graciesueee: Tea contains antioxidants. Antioxidants can help slow down the aging process, and help cells regenerate and repair. Many studies suggest antioxidants also assist our bodies in preventing cancer.  Tea can lower stress hormone levels. Black tea can reduce the effects of stressful events by…

The Rocking Horse Winner by D. H. Lawrence.  You should read this short story because even if I didn’t read it off a book called, “Best Short Stories of the Modern Age,” I would still think that it’s a pretty good short story.

Tonight I found out that oolong tea has caffeine after I had already ingested two cups of it. I had meant to drink tea so that I can get rid of my colds and chill out my nerves and maybe get to bed earlier. Damn.  Caffeine aside, it was pretty good though. Definitely better than peppermint because at least oolong doesn’t taste like water.  Still, nothing beats chamomile. It is the only tea...

the art of losing myself.: It's a great time to be... →
askthecatholic: To be honest, I can’t help but be excited at the persecution the Catholic Church has been getting lately. It’s as if the culture went from giving us the silent treatment to screaming at us. And I’m very proud of the united efforts of our US Bishops (and… The blood of martyrs is the seed of Christians.

And yes, my life is more”glamorous” now than ever before—unbelievably so, sometimes, professionally and socially—and yet still I’m always looking for the exit sign. Whether it’s from a fashion tent or the best new club, I’m always slipping out. I go outside and smoke cigarettes and walk home without saying goodbye to anyone. And then I go do drugs alone at my apartment. ...

Komen, Catholics, and the cost of conscience  →
badwolfcomplex: I was rather impressed with this article from the Washington Post. Two of the top news stories this week have revolved around reproductive rights, though both raise far more troubling issues than a woman’s right to contraception or abortion. The more compelling questions concern a person’s or an institution’s freedom of conscience and the right to act upon one’s moral beliefs...

Plans for College
When I graduate out of high school and get into college, I am skipping out on all the carpe diem-ing. I’m not going to join orgs and clubs and whatever. I’m not aiming for an ambitious social life, I’m not going to lead anything, and I have absolutely no plans on filling up my stupid planner with the same volume of things to do as I have now. Please for once, let me skip all the...

THIS IS WHY I'M UPSET
YESTERDAY I was working in the library, and I was using my USB. That USB was awesome, mostly because it was for free and it was shaped like a little robot.  Then, out of pure stupidity, I mindlessly left the USB in the library and carried on with my day.  I realized my mistake later, and when I came back, IT WAS GONE. I asked but then I was told that SOME KIDS WERE PLAYING WITH IT AND TOOK IT...

Mommy Life: Planned Parenthood wants your thoughts →
Planned Parenthood is asking for your thoughts on Roe vs. Wade, in celebration of its 39th anniversary.  Here’s what I said: Because of Roe, millions of children have been murdered so that women are able to live as they pleased.  I almost directly quoted Mother Teresa because she’s awesome and because I couldn’t have said it better myself. Sometimes, life gives you the ability...

I really need to start updating the Romanovs blog. I haven’t uploaded a single photo in the longest time. This is probably an ongoing record, and I feel horrible because of it. Yes, I admit that I am losing interest in it, mostly because nowadays I can’t find the time for the Romanovs. Poor NAOTMAA. More reasons to miss 2008.  Anyway. As I was saying. It’s nearly 1:30 AM. Anticlimax (n.)- After months of waiting and hoping and praying to pass the exam to the only college you truly want to get into, you get home, turn to the website, scroll down, and find your name in the list. Meaning, you have passed. You have passed! You have done it. You are good enough. However, your eyes glide to the right. You have no campus. You have no course. Instead, there are the words,...

the-beautiful-fight: I was having dinner with my boss and her husband (all three of us Ateneans) when we talked about the difference with how Gloria and Noynoy sees life. I first started following the “prolife” tag here on Tumblr a few months ago, but in all honesty I had barely looked at it since, because it was rather disappointing. It had nothing to do with prolife at all; rather, the posts that showed up were almost always pro-choice, or arguments for pro-choice, or downright insults of the pro-life movement. If there ever was anything prolife in...
